Mayday Weekend
Saturday: We spent time shopping all day, went to Covent Garden again but this time I did not take the stairs, we got off at Leister Square instead. I found some really cool shoe shops in Neal Street the other day. We also went to Regent and Oxford Street and I bought a really nice black summer coat. I only have one summer jacket and really needed something neat to wear in case I will have to go for a job interview. We ended up in a pub at Duke Street called The Barley Mow where we had a well-deserved pint [of cider, in my case] and a pub dinner later that evening.

Sunday: We went to Addlestone, Surrey to visit S. and J. for lunch. I. and C. were invited too. Had a great time playing croquet with nine year old, Cloe who was there for the weekend to visit her dad. Later that day I have been practising driving the VW TDI in a nearby Tesco's parking lot. Driving the car is alright, I don't have a problem sitting on the 'wrong' side. I do have a problem with traffic: I have no clue where to expect traffic from so I tend to look in the wrong direction. I wish I could erase my subconscious and program the right direction for the UK instead of the mainland... Why did someone decide to drive on the wrong side of the road in this country and how on earth did I manage to drive from the airport to Cranleigh on bendy country roads, with pissing down rain, in the dark and exceeding the speed limit without realising it?
Monday: Tried to sew the dress that I'm gonna wear at Carla and Tjallings wedding in June but unfortunately I was given the wrong zipper, it looks terrible. I'll have to go on another 'mission impossible' to sort out a -more elegant- zipper so I can finish the dress... I was so totally annoyed by this. It will take me another day to sort this out, time I could spend on more important things. So I decided to [finally] prepare Sushi for dinner, which is kind of relaxing to do and therefore sets my mind at ease. A. had to work from home all day even though it was a bank holiday [Mayday... Mayday... sorry I find it such a weird name for a bank holiday, so I make fun of it because I can *grin*].
