xMas Shopping II
We have been at Lakeside all day to buy the last bits and pieces for the family. It will be hectic in a few days since our diary seems to be fully booked with visits here and there. Friday we are invited to a house warming and xMas party, organised by friends of A. who luckily live right around the corner. Saturday we will be going to J. and S. in Addlestone, Surrey, to admire the new born, the rest of the family came over from France yesterday and are staying with C.'s family. C. and I promised to cook dinner for all of them, C. will prepare Chicken Curry and basmati rice and I will prepare Chicken Rendang [and sweet potato noodles].
I found a really cool Chinese supermarket in London, where I can find all the fresh ingredients to prepare a proper Indonesian dish. I'm so happy with this since I don't need to ask my friends to send the stuff over. The Chinese supermarket doesn't have many things but most of the important ingredients. I found my Rendang paste, which is cool. My aunt sent me more pastes and sambal badjak and a lot more. I didn't receive the parcel yet so I have no idea what will be in there. I found the sweet potato noodles at the supermarket too, along with lombok and fresh lime leaves. It will be nice and spicy! *YumYum!*
Sunday we will have a pre-xMas day with I., C. They will cook a real English old style xMas dinner including stuffed turkey, sprouts, parsnip, Yorkshire puddings, gravy and a lot more. I'm looking forward to this meal! Won't have any big portion though because I'm not going to spoil the results from yesterday... We will open our presents that we bought each other then. The ones A. and I bought for each other will be opened on Monday morning, along with a traditional dinner: our own stuffed turkey, cranberry sauce, Yorkshire puddings; the whole shebang. I will be eating turkey till the end of the year... Lovely!
