Windscreen Cracks

We went down town to pick up my machine today. The box is much bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. I mean I've lifted these machines at work so I wasn't expecting it to be bigger and heavier. It's still in the box and I will tell you exactly why. I am simply too busy to open it up and examine it. I have still so much work to do before we go to France. I have to finish A.'s website this week and build and design another one that needs to be finished in a week as well.

As soon as I open the box I will feel the urge to play with the new toy which would take me days. First of all I would have to make room for it, therefore I need to reorganise the rack so it will fit properly, then I would have to install the software sort out the software for OSX Tiger, some of my old software doesn't seem to run with the new system. I would have to sort out our network, it's a mess at the moment because we don't have enough ports to connect all the machines to the network.

So it would take me at least a week or two to get organised. I'd rather do it at the right moment and the right time which will be in a month or so. I don't need it yet and can work on my PowerBook for now which is alright for the smaller stuff that I'm designing. If my mind is at ease then I will take time to sit down and sort the machine out.

We also went to see my mother today. On our way there a big stone hit the front window of the car and guess what happened... We had to drive slow to prevent the windscreen from cracking, with the strong headwind that seemed almost impossible. We managed though but it does need fixing... I spent the rest of the day cleaning out my stuff and organising the flight case that I bought a while ago. It all fits in there. I threw out a lot of crap as well so I'm slowly getting there. Tomorrow A. will call a company to have the windscreen fixed, hopefully it will be insured. Now I'm off to bed...
