Silver Lining
I had a bad day at work. Just the usual Monday annoyance. Rude and nagging people testing my patience. Trying to be kind and not let it get to you is a skill I tell ya! I normally just ignore the remarks or behave extremely polite with a gentle touch of sarcasm. The regular people make up for the bad ones because they are most of the time very kind!
Carla had to leave at 15.30 to go to another store so I was on my own for an hour. Lucky me it wasn't that busy so I didn't get stressed. Help came in soon and the girl was very nice; also a regular customer and for about two months a colleague from another store. I didn't realise she came to help me out, I thought she came in to buy her groceries, so to my surprise I found her next to me at the counter instead of opposite of me as a customer.
She was very good at the job so I could do all the things that needed to be done before closing time while she took care of the customers. We were ready on time and had a drink together and a chat which was a nice end of the day. Another nice thing happened: the owner of the store next to us decided to stop working and sell the place. So this afternoon she came in and gave me a beautiful Kookai dress.
I know her for years, she had her store near where I used to live before I moved to my current apt. She sells wonderful clothes, a bit expensive but very good quality and the type of stuff that is original. At some point she had moved out and I lost track of her until I moved into this area about five years ago and noticed that she had moved there too. Ever since I have been buying clothes every now and then and whenever I came in she was always very nice to me, giving me small gifts etc.
So she has been selling her stuff on discount for a couple of weeks and A. bought me a really nice dress that I had seen in the window. I couldn't buy it myself because I had to work so I asked him to pick it up for me and tell the owner of the store that I couldn't try it on, so perhaps I could change it for something else when it wouldn't fit. I knew she wouldn't make a fuss about it because she knows who I am.
But A. bought it for me as a gift and it suits me so I was very happy with it, I can't wait till it gets warmer so I can wear it!!! To my surprise she walked in this morning with the Kookai dress and told me I could have it, it was the last dress and she had to clean out the store and basement because she was now officially closed. That was so sweet of her! So now I have two really nice dresses that I can wear. Hopefully the snow will melt and the temperature will rise soon! I can't wait to wear them!
