Hi there...

|

if you were wondering whether I'm still alive or not, here I am, after a long period of silence. Lots of things happened in the meantime. First of all for those who didn't get my personal new year's flash movie: Happy New Year!

I realise it's kinda late but I haven't had much time to update this blogger. Not that I've been extremely busy but I just didn't do it and spent my time doing other things.

Good news, I ordered another domain name and hosting in Ireland a while ago but didn't hear from them again unfortunately. This morning I sent them an email about that and guess what, tomorrow morning the site will be up and running. I can finally move my other blog there so I can work on the latest version of Movable Type and copy all the previous posts on here, into my new blog.

Advantage of that would be the maintenance of it all, it also will be with a much cheaper and better provider. I've got 5 databases now instead of 2 and somehow I have a feeling that this provider will give me all the gadgets that I need, like the latest Perl DBI module instead of a old one that doesn't work with Movable Type.

I will run the forum for A. his mum and her women's club in the South of France and I will set up a knowledge base for A.. He will have to buy a domain name so we can run his website thru my ISP, now wouldn't that be great? I can add up to 5 extra domains...

I also have an option to start an online shop which will be good for starting to sell some stuff that I always wanted to sell like some artwork or worn panties *just kidding jeez* what's on a person's mind hey?*... see if that is going to work out *grin*

I'm a little fed up with the suckers I'm with now. Especially if they refuse to update their systems because they are scared of hackers *bull* The other day I received an email telling me that I should update the forum that I installed two weeks before I received that email, the forum for the women's club. They asked me to download the latest version because there were security issues...

I sent them an email, telling them that if they would've checked their system first they could've known that the forum that I'm currently running is exactly the one that should've been running; the latest version... I told them that if they knew about any other updates they could bother me with another mail. Idiots...

They wouldn't install cron jobs either, I checked my control panel today with my new hosting provider and joy! I found out that I can use cron jobs, isn't that lovely?! Guess what, I'm paying 1/10 of what I have to pay with the others, so reasons enough to transfer everything to the Irish lads...

On to something else; I haven't done much during my holiday. I just slept and slept for hours. The dreams have been bugging me again and I was so tired every morning that I slept for about 13 hours or more a day. Quite vivid dreams and not too nice at times. Main subjects; trying to pack bags and suitcases, getting ready to leave and not being able to hold everything together, losing bags etc.

Traveling is another topic, I've been on all sorts of public transport, but the funniest was an office chair that I used to drive across town, I could speed up by pushing the back support [leaning backwards]. The awkward thing was that I got cramp in my legs by having to lift them all the time and trying to keep my feet on the wheels. I also had a classic car, Opel/Vauxhall, convertible, soft top, sports car, light green color, very stylish. I chased the bad guys with that and impressed A. and his brothers by racing it thru town, I. in his BMW couldn't keep up with me... can you imagine?

Aliens was another topic but that is one thing I will leave up to your wild imagination, it was scary trust me...

I visited my mother just before xMas, it was alright, no harsh words spoken, she was happy to see us. We had dinner with my brother at cafe van Zanten, same story... My younger brother called me over new years eve to tell me that his girlfriend is pregnant again [first time wasn't that successful unfortunately] so I will be an aunt in about 6 months. He seemed very happy, so I'm happy for him!

Christiaan sent me a link tonight showing me the latest Powerbook, called MacBook Pro, with Intel Core Duo processor. Jeez: tempting!!!!! Now he made me think about my decision again... I'm happy that I still didn't buy the G5. But I also made a promise to myself not to by the first but the second edition, just to make sure that everything will be fine, we don't want to end up being their guinea pig right? I told him I will probably dream about processors and Macbooks tonight... not knowing what to buy, or losing all the money right in front of the door of that store while grabbing it and looking around getting ready to run for that tornado which is getting closer and closer...

A. bought another machine for his cluster; we better start looking for a bigger apartment this one is getting too cramped... I will have to reorganise the office space and try to fit everything in.

I finally finished the business cards for Barry and Irene in Scotland. I uploaded them to the printer and I received an email today that it has been sent to them already, isn't that fast? Uploaded it two days ago and it's done already. I'm so curious about the result! I didn't tell them so hopefully it will be a surprise to them, they will probably receive it next week. I will have to contact them after next Tuesday to ask them for a few examples for my portfolio...

I also have another contact added to the network of people. I received this very nice email from a friend of my brother's who was interested in working together with me on website projects, I could do the design and flash stuff. I'm happy with that! Hopefully it will work out...

I found my twin sister last Friday, her name is Marie-José©. She's a regular customer and we always make fun of each other. We found out that she has her birthday on the same day as I have: Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Scorpio which means:

'This astrological combination indicates that you possess great strength of will and force of character. You can exercise remarkable self-control if necessary in order to gain some future benefit. Pride and a desire for recognition of your merits are the basic reasons for your self-reliance.

You always act positively and with great determination. A powerful enemy, you don't rest until you have revenged yourself fully. You always insist on getting to the root of things, investigating and probing until you have discovered their source. You exhibit qualities useful in a leader, whether in politics or business. The key to a more harmonious existence lies in mastering your indomitable and unyielding will.'

She told me 'Good luck' since we both celebrate our birthday this Thursday... *silly woman*

Well... I guess that was about it, there is probably more but I think it's best if I would get some sleep now instead of writing and thinking.

See ya'round!
