iBook Tangerine
I officially sold it today. My iBook Tangerine. My first laptop. My third computer. My first was a LCII, then a 6500 PPC [all brand new] then the iBook [one year old second hand refurbished] and then my first PowerBook G4 which is going to be for sale pretty soon because I'm going to buy the latest PowerBook for myself and the MiniMac for A..
It's weird to let go of something. I thought I wouldn't have a problem with this and I don't because I'm happy that it's gone and going to be useful to someone else, in this case a colleague of mine: Alex. But still, I feel I didn't say a proper goodbye to that thing that has been so handy and good to me for years along with my desktop model the 6500.
I wonder why people get attached to these kind of things, why is that??? Probably because they're Macs and therefore [if you buy them brand new] pretty expensive. But it can't be just the money that you've spent on it can it? This thing becomes like your personal friend, your mate, your partner, your world [worst case scenario].
Is it me or are there others out there feeling the same way about their precious??? Here's a picture of me when I just moved into the apartment where I still live now-a-days, this was in 2000. I am in the office space/computer room which is packed with boxes and still needs redecorating. But the first thing I had setup straight away is these valuable things on the left and in the middle...
I can be such a sentimental goat at times...
