IBC 2005
It's been on the Apple website for weeks; the IBC 2005 annual media trade exhibition. I went there today with my colleague Christiaan. We were in and out in an hour though. Only the Apple demonstrations were interesting. These were about Final Cut Pro, Shake and Motion. They showed us some bits and pieces of animations from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The demonstration we saw was about these squirrels working at the factory breaking nuts and attacking this girl. How they used editing techniques to merge the real squirrels into an animated background with animated squirrels, or how they mixed animated squirrels with real squirrels if they carry away the girl. Amazing to see how they do this.
I bought two books about Flash MX 2004 Action Scripting for games; very interesting stuff to read and practice! Lucky me I found out that the girl at the register charged me for three books instead of two, so I had to go back to claim my money... That was 45 Euros which is quite a lot. If I have a little bit more time then I will start the Action Scripting course and see if I can design a tiny game ![]()
