Stench Everywhere
A. called me to ask me if I rented the last DVD from the Kingdom Hospital series. Of course I didn't. I have been to the park this morning to meet up with Dina for a run. Silly girl over slept. So I sat on one of these wooden benches enjoying the view of a pond, with ducks, fish and flying insects while waiting for her to arrive. It took her about 20 minutes. I didn't mind though because the sun came out and it was actually a very nice, sunny and quiet spot to sit and relax and set my mind at ease. A very relaxing way to start the day.
As soon as she arrived we started to stretch because that already takes ten minutes and it was getting late. If we start an hour later it will probably be really warm by the time we've done half the distance. Running is then becoming torture since it's getting too hot and too crowded and too smelly. I don't mind dogs, in fact I love them, I do mind dog owners for they don't seem to help their dog out whenever needed. In summertime when the park is crowded and the sun is up and warming up all those piles of poo everywhere, it really starts to stink!
Dog poo though is still something that I can handle, human piss and faeces are from a different calibre especially when you're craving for fresh air in your lungs, deeply breathing in and out because of the exercise. Trust me, you don't want that particular scent up your nostrils! It's plain gross! So an early start while the temperature is still right and not too hot is the perfect way to start running without the annoyance of this overpowering stench that makes you wanna puke. I wish the dog owners would be aware of the problem. I wish people who tend to use a park as a toilet would be even more aware of the results...
We ran for about 45 minutes this time. Dina didn't feel very well and so she started to walk after a while. Again I felt like I could still run for another 45 minutes... Next time I'll sit her down at the terrace with a cup of coffee and do another round on my own. We've been sitting there for a couple of hours, reading the paper, chatting and drinking coffee/tea. I missed the cigarette man this time, he wasn't there to entertain people, too bad, I was curious to see what he was up to. The sun showed it's face in between clouds, it was a very nice day to sit at the park like this!
I went home, worked on my website, browsed the internet, did some research and did a few laundries. I received a package today with some of my meds in. I didn't have enough so I had to order in three more bottles. I was still busy working on my website when A. called me to ask me about the DVD. He said he would get it on his way home. And so we've watched the final DVD tonight which was excellent. I feel a bit uncomfortable about the fact that this was really! the last one ![]()
It's so good I wish there were more DVDs. I guess I'll have to look for newly released movies on DVD this week...
