Scotland Trip

Today was exciting! We've been planning our trip to Scotland. First we wanted to go to the east coast and visit some nice castles and other interesting places there but then I decided to call my friend Inge to ask her how long it would take us to get from one place to another by car. She wasn't home to my surprise but Frank her hubby was so I talked to him about this. It turned out that it didn't take that long so we decided to change plans and do a bigger round trip but this time on the west coast.

We looked up all the different type of castles on the internet and got as much information as possible and printed everything out. There are a few wonderful things to see. We also decided not to camp out but book a B&B or a nice hotel since it would save us all the fuss to bring over camping gear. Inge told me we could borrow stuff from them but still... we would have to bring our own tent, sleeping bags etc. Way too much to carry on the plane, so we can't be bothered. Also my diet is making it a bit harder. I'd rather not cook myself, again, I would have to bring over so much stuff... No point doing that.

We are still not finished planning but I'll do that later on this week, perhaps tomorrow evening if I'm not too tired. We're staying at Inge and Frank's place for three days, then we'll do our round trip that will end in Glasgow on the 24th of August. Where we're supposed to meet up with A.'s brother I. and his wife C. and his other brother S. and his soon to be wife J.. We'll all go to by car [two cars in total] to Islay, an island near the west coast, where some of my favourite distilleries are situated. The trip from Glasgow to the ferry will take two hours, the crossing will take another two hours. The next day we'll all celebrate A.'s birthday there and probably get wasted...

We'll leave on Saturday and go back to Glasgow to say goodbye to I., C., S. and J. and we'll continue our trip to stay a couple more days at Inge and Frank's place. Tuesday we'll leave Scotland and go home again... I'll post some links here soon, links that will take you to all the wonderful places that we're going to see. I can't wait to look up more interesting stuff on the internet!!! It'll be a cool holiday, I need it and I definitely deserve it!!! *grin*
