Callander - Inge/Frank
A. and I woke up at 07.30 and had breakfast an hour later. The same as usual. It was our last breakfast here at the Abbotford Lodge. We packed our stuff last night already so soon after breakfast we were ready to leave. We went to the waterfalls of Dochart which was about 35 minutes from Callander. Unfortunately it had been pissing down all morning and it looked like it wasn't getting any better! Once we were there I didn't really feel like going out the car to have a look at the waterfalls since it was still pissing down hard. I told A. we might as well drive straight to Inge and Frank which was nearby anyway.
I asked Inge last week when it would be convenient for her but she didn't really mind what time of the day so we where there in about half an hour. The door went open and Moyra and Roger were standing in the doorway with a big fat grin on their faces. Roger started to scream because he was so happy to see us again. What a pleasure to be welcomed like that. They're really sweet children and so cute! It was good to see them and Inge again. Frank wasn't home, he had to take a flight to the Netherlands and would be back tomorrow evening just before dinner.
We spent all day chatting and relaxing. I finally had a chance to write some of my postcards and I played some games with Moyra and Roger. We went for a walk in the forest near the house. The dogs were crazy as usual and behaving funny. I'm not sure if I wrote about them but Mac is the only one left of the three I met three years ago; Murdoch and Dove passed away. Mac is so funny and recognised me straight away. Jock is still very young and playful and not a very good listener... But they're both really sweet dogs! and at times a bit over enthusiastic!
When the kids went to bed [Dorota the au pair helped them getting ready and reading bedtime stories to them] we drove to Crieff to have dinner at a Thai restaurant. Unfortunately it was closed on Sunday evenings so we went to the Chinese opposite the street which was an excellent restaurant. We stayed until 22.05 and had to go home again because of the children and because we will have to get up early tomorrow morning.
We've planned on going to Edinburgh on our last day here. So I'd better finish this off now because it's getting late and I have to go to the toilet. I don't really want to because there was this huge big fat spider in there which was about 8 cm long and I don't know where it is now... *eeeeeeew* It's also dark in the bedroom and I only use the light of my computer [that nice little Apple logo on the back *grin*] while writing this. I can hear the rain fall on the roof, it's loud and hard and there is a strong wind. Hopefully the rain will be gone in the morning! Our last sunny day out here would be the perfect end to a perfect holiday... I'm off fighting huge spiders now! Good night...
