Banana Beer!
We organised a dinner party last night at this Ethiopian restaurant with seven of us. The food was excellent, I have been craving for it for at least one year but somehow no-one really wanted to join me in this... I had my first Banana Beer as well this evening, which was nice and I'm happy that I've tried it but I will probably not drink it again *grin*

Banana beer is the traditional beer of the Massai in Kenia and Tanzania. This banana beer contains the OK bananas as the most important ingredient and was therefore given he Max Havelaar and Fair Trade label. The beer is called 'mbege' in Africa. It has the yellow colour of ripe bananas. It clearly tastes like bananas and in the palate the beer is transported back to the taste buds.

Pieter who was supposed to make reservations didn't show up, so after 45 minutes we decided to call him to see what was going on. Silly sod forgot to make reservations because he thought it would've been on Saturday instead of Friday. We waited for him to get ready and come over, lucky us he lives around the corner so we didn't have to wait that long.
We had fun talking about this silly show on TV called the MythBusters. It turned out that each of us [except Rob, a colleague of A.] had seen all the shows on TV. Quite interesting if you find out that you're not the only one watching this show. Funny that we all seem to share the same interest without knowing or realising. The show is on Discovery and normally not many people watch this channel because it's mostly related to science, technology, nature etc. Typical geek thing in my opinion but I love it and so does A. and so do the others... ![]()
After dinner we went to Pieter's place and had an after party till 05.20 in the morning, which was fun! We were all getting wasted on wine and Bacardi. I brought the bottle along because I don't drink Bacardi and it was just sitting in my kitchen for over a year already. I left it at Pieter's place because I wanted to get rid of it. He might have flushed it down the drain, I wouldn't mind though if he did, I told him he could. When we left, birds were already up and singing, wonderful thing to listen to but also a bit sad somehow reminded me of late nights out... We came home at 05.30 in the morning and went to bed.
It has been a great evening/night!
