Slow Day
We had a wonderful time up in the mountains, but I have to admit, it feels good to be back home again at A. his parents place. The trip was very annoying, each bump or gap in the road made the pain in my back worse. Roads in France are either very good or very bad. We were driving on good roads most of the time but the last bit was a very very bad road [about 30 minutes] and I couldn't stand it any longer. I was happy to get out of the car when we arrived... Will be fun when we have to drive all the way back home... *not*
We're taking things slow today, do some shopping, look for a nice present for A.'s father. He has his birthday tomorrow and we've decided to stay till Friday the 7th when we'll drive back and stay over night at Nancy, this time not the Formula 1 hotel but at Ibis. A. booked the hotel already, he wanted a decent one this time *grin* I finally found a nice gift for Mirjam and Frank who are looking after my birds. Something typical French and from the Provençe, but I don't really mind. I hope they will love it! I went to this antique shop and I found myself a really cool walking stick which is quite useful these days!
We went to Nice early this morning, A.'s father had to sign some papers for A.'s house. After our quick visit to the notary I went to see the doctor on our way home. He gave me a prescription for strong pain killers and paracetamol. The muscles on my back seem to be completely stretched and are in a constant spasm which is causing the pain. Whenever I wake up in the morning everything seems to be alright, that's because I can relax while being asleep, but the moment I need to do things it gets worse again. So I need the pain killers to relax the muscles. We couldn't get anything from the pharmacy though because they ran out of it and we'll have to try again early in the morning. That means another sleepless night and a painful back during the day... *sigh*
The weather has been wonderful ever since we came back, so we're enjoying having our lunch out on the terrace in the warm sun. I can't do anything else but enjoying the sun and sit on my butt all day *grin* Another positive thing is that when I'm going to collect the pain killers in the morning I will probably not take any when we're all celebrating A.'s fathers birthday tomorrow. There will be a wonderful lunch with probably bubbles and wine, so how can I refuse? I'd rather be in pain for another day then miss out on the festivities! Would be foolish...
