2 Days Ski Resort
We woke up early in the morning and had again a tiny picnic on the bed because the hotel was still closed and the owner at home probably still drunk and asleep from the night before. So after breakfast we packed the car and left quietly. After an hour drive through snow and surrounded by beautiful mountains we arrived at our hotel [Le Hameau de la Foux, La Foux d'Allos, Alpes-de-Haute-provençe. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we decided to go to the resort, rent our gear, book a snowboard lesson and have lunch on a terrace in the sun...

It was beautiful out there. We rented our gear and went to this restaurant were we had a very nice lunch. Sitting outside enjoying the beautiful day-to-day atmospheric conditions of the place: sun! I had my first class at 14.00 and we booked another one at 11.00 in the morning the next day. After lunch we got ourselves ready for the great event I've been so looking forward to! We went to the meeting point and met our instructor Piere Olivier.

Unfortunately after an hour the instructor wanted me to go on the lift while I wasn't ready at all to do that. I had so many unanswered questions still. A. took lessons before so to him it was all peanuts and therefore he was practicing a bit by himself without following further instructions. The instructor helped me the first bit but after a few minutes he let go of me, I was okay for a minute but then I fell and was dragged along for a couple of metres. I had no idea what was going on until I noticed A. on the side of the track shouting that I had to let go. But by the time I realised what was going on it was too late already... I was in severe pain!
I ignored the pain for another 20 minutes, tried to be brave and not ruin the day while finishing the class. When the instructor left, I looked for A., being in tears caused by the pain. I couldn't breath, move, nothing... We decided to go down the hill and cancel the lesson for the next day. I felt horrible and guilty. A. kept telling me it wasn't my fault. I knew it wasn't but still... Each person we've talked to after this incident [even other instructors], told us that our instructor had been wrong. He should've waited until at least the fifth lesson before taking me on that lift and practice basic things like balancing and getting used to the board, first.
Anyway, the pain became worse over the next 24 hours, I could hardly move, sit, anything. So we brought back the gear and went back to our hotel to relax a bit. That evening we had an excellent dinner at the restaurant of the hotel, with a very nice bottle of wine brewed for the guests of the hotel. A. really enjoyed his 'plat du fromage', especially the one with the mustard seeds and the wonderful smell! I had to help him with that *grin* After dinner we took a hot bath to relax the muscles and relief the pain. We went to bed early. I didn't sleep very well though; tossing and turning all night because of the pain.
