Shattered Girl's Dream

15.15 We left for France via Antwerp, Brussels, Luxembourg, Metz, Nancy. A. booked one night at one of those silly Formula 1 hotels along the highway. We had a hard time driving down there since it started to snow right after Brussels. The road was slippery and there were a lot of trucks slowing us down because it was almost impossible to overtake.

When we finally arrived at Nancy, we found out that we didn't print a map of the area nor did we have directions on how to get to this hotel. We've been driving around for a while, then we took the first exit and went looking for other hotels. We found this Ibis hotel and asked the girl at the reception for directions, lucky us the hotel was nearby and we were heading for the right direction.

After spending the night at this really cool hotel *not* we woke up grumpy and cold because of a lack of sleep [cardboard boxes], had some serious breakfast [French croissant with butter] and hit the road again just after 09.30 in the morning. Formula 1 had been a one time experience due to the fact that there was no toilet in the room; everything was shared, even the noise some people would make during the night...

A shattered girls dream... and what was most disappointing was the fact that there was no racing car in the room... I was so looking forward to that

Anyway, the next day was much better; weather conditions were perfect, traffic not too bad at all and so we arrived in the sunny south of France right on time at about 20.00 in the evening... Tired but excited because we did it! Having a wonderful meal prepared by A. his parents.
